Ruth Gathu | Program Coordinator

Ruth Gathu is a born-again Christian who serves as the Program Coordinator for “The Prisoners’ Journey” (Safari ya Mfungwa) with Prison Fellowship Kenya. She joined the organization in late 2015 as a volunteer from PCEA Church.

Her role allows her to fulfill a deep desire to minister to those behind bars through the Word of God. The program aims to help inmates identify with Jesus, who also experienced suffering, despite committing no crime. It seeks to teach them who Jesus is, why He came, and what they are called to do after understanding this.

The core message of the program is that all people are prisoners of sin and need Jesus to save them, as His purpose was to reconcile humanity to the Father.
